Several residents were saved from the rear of a burning Northern Westchester residence after officers braved flames and a downed live wire to rescue them. The blaze happened in Ossining on Tuesday night, Aug. 6, when a residence on Maurice Avenue went up in flames, according to Ossining Police. A Northern Westchester town has authorized outfitting its police department with body-worn cameras. In an announcement on Wednesday, June 5, the Yorktown Town Board said it has approved the purchase of body cameras for the Yorktown Police Department as part of an over $478,000 contract with Axon Enterprises. Officers are expected to begin wearing the cameras during the summer.
