Man Sentenced For Theft From Cemeteries, Must Pay $196K The former superintendent of a Putnam County cemetery is going to spend several years behind bars after being busted for stealing more than $150,000 for work he never committed. Pawling resident Robert Bauer has been sentenced to a term of one and a half to four and a half years in prison and agreed to pay $195,850,50 after being found guilty by a jury earlier this year on multiple criminal charges.
