Preston 'Sandy' Scher, Retired Chief City Court Judge, Deputy Mayor In Westchester, Dies
A former Chief City Court Judge and Deputy Mayor in New Rochelle died at the age of 81 in Westchester.
Preston Sandford “Sandy” Scher died in Westchester on Sunday, Feb. 21, his family announced.
Born Jan. 21, 1940, in Queens, to Robert Scher and Sylvia Fisher Scher, he made Dean’s Honor Roll at the University at Buffalo where he graduated with a B.A. in philosophy in 1961, where he was a captain of the school’s fencing team. Scher received a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1964, where he graduated with honors.

Kathleen Clemens, Insurance Administrator In Westchester, Dies At 56
An insurance administrator in Westchester, 56-year-old Kathleen E. Clemens, died Thursday, Aug. 29 at Putnam Hospital Center.
Born on January 26, 1963, in the Bronx, daughter of the late Thomas R. Clemens and Kathleen V. (Cullen) Clemens of Brewster, she graduated from Brewster High School in 1981.
Clemens was an insurance administrator for Donnelly Insurance Center in Elmsford.
She enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland, was an avid Rangers and New York Mets fan and also enjoyed looking into her family history and researching her ancestry.

Patterson Relay For Life Marks 10th Year
Patterson's 10th annual Relay for Life is Saturday, June 9, and lasts from 8 a.m. until midnight, helping raise money for the American Cancer Society branch based in New Windsor.
While the walk around the track for a loved one begins at 8 a.m., opening ceremonies start at noon at the Patterson Fire House, 13 Burdick Road.
A luminary ceremony begins at 9:30 p.m. and the fund-raising relay concludes at midnight.
Festivities include kids games, a petting zoo, butterfly release, food, desserts, raffles, a DJ and musical bands.
