To the Editor:
I am writing to say that I fully support Kitley Covill to be the next County Legislator for District 2 and I think Mt. Kisco should get behind her as well. Kitley is a passionate believer in the power of good government to make the lives of people in this district better. You only have to take a quick look at her record to see this. She has 30 plus years in public service. From her time as a Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corp. EMT and Officer to her work as legal advisor to the Domestic Violence Council and representing women in Title IX proceedings - Kitley cares about people! Mt. Kisco has one of the biggest immigrant populations in District 2, which is one of the many reasons we have such a diverse and interesting demographic. Kitley has stated eloquently that she would have voted Yes for the Immigrant Protection Act that our current County Legislator Francis Corcoran voted against. To his credit, Mr. Corcoran has done some outreach regarding immigrant issues, but there is so much more to be done, and Kitley could be counted on to do just that. The increasing need for affordable housing in District 2 and the county as a whole are major issues that are keeping our area from developing in the positive direction that it needs to be going in. Kitley is very aware of this, and will strive to make it an issue that gets the attention it rightly deserves. When young people and young families have to rule out our area for being too expensive, we all lose. We need that vitality to keep the district strong and healthy. Kitley will work with our district to analyse the issues and come up with plans to address the concerns we as District 2 and Westchester residents have. She will put our families first, she will hold the line on property taxes and she will be a fantastic choice for us for County Legislator. Kitley has the intelligence and the compassion to be the leader we need now, more than ever.
