“Tri-State Environmental Services in conjunction with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation completed the remediation,” the update read. “The water supply was in no way compromised and the water continues to be safe to drink.  The Village continues to filter all water through our Filtration Plant and pursuant to Federal and State standards.”

The incident occurred late Tuesday afternoon when a pick-up truck fell into the Byram Lake after overturning due to speeding, police said.

The lake is used as a drinking supply for both the Town of Bedford and Village of Mount Kisco.
