Two Hospitalized After I-684 Head-On Crash Near Mount Kisco/Bedford Border

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - Two men were hospitalized late on Sunday night when a wrong-way driver struck a motorist head-on after taking a wrong turn on I-684 in Bedford.

According to the New York State Police, at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to the area of Exit 4 after a man from Carmel entered the interstate from the southbound exit ramp and continued driving northbound in the southbound lanes.

Shortly after entering the wrong ramp in his Toyota RAV4, the driver struck a man from Yonkers who was traveling southbound and could not avoid the wrong-way driver.

Both men were sent to the Westchester Medial Center for treatment. The Yonkers motorist suffered non-life threatening injuries, while the wrong-way driver has been listed in critical condition. Neither driver has been identified by police.

The crash remains under investigation.
