The suspect was identified by police as 24-year-old Landy Leonardo-Monroy.
County police said that detectives arrested Leonardo-Monroy at his residence on Saturday night.
Leonardo-Monroy was charged with first-degree assault, which is a felony, and was arraigned in Mount Kisco's village court on Sunday, police said. The suspect is currently being detained at the Westchester County jail in Valhalla and is being held without bail, police added.
Leonardo-Monroy is alleged to have slashed the victim at around 6 a.m. on Friday when the victim was trying to stop a fight at the party, police stated.
The victim was identified as a Long Island man.
Police allege that Leonardo-Monroy hit the victim in the head with a beer bottle and that a neck jugular vein was slashed after the bottle was partially shattered.
Police said that the victim subsequently left the party, which was to a home on the West Street Extension, walked to Maple Avenue and was driven to Northern Westchester Hospital (NWH) by an acquaintance. After being treated at NWH, the victim was transferred to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for more treatment, police added.
Police added that the victim initially told a different story of what transpired.
"County police were alerted to the incident by staff at Northern Westchester hospital, but the victim was initially uncooperative," police said in a statement. "He claimed he had been drinking at a local bar and was attacked by a man on a nearby street after he left. He also claimed he was not familiar with the area and could not identify the bar or the street where he said he was attacked."
Police added, "Detectives interviewed the victim again about 4 p.m. Saturday following his release from the Westchester Medical Center. He then admitted he knew his attacker’s name but did not initially say so because he was fearful of retribution."
Leonardo-Monroy was subsequently identified by police following an investigation.
