On Monday, Westchester County Police spokesman Kieran O’Leary announced that 19-year-old Milton Herrera-Umana was arrested and charged with felony counts of second-degree burglary and first-degree sexual abuse after he unlawfully entered a woman’s apartment on Sunday morning.
According to the police, at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, a Mount Kisco woman reported to police that she had been awoken in her bed and found that a man was attempting to remove her sweatpants and climb on top of her.
Herrera-Umana’s victim screamed and a family member entered the room, prompting him to flee, leaving his shoes behind, which he had taken off before getting in the woman’s bed. Herrera-Umana was arrested several hours later following a brief investigation by officers and detectives from the General Investigations Unit.
