According to the police, at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Sunday night, officers were dispatched to the area of Exit 4 when 30-year-old Carmel resident Steven Becerra entered the interstate from the southbound exit ramp and continued driving north in the southbound lanes.
Not long after navigating his Toyota RAV4 onto I-684, Becerra struck Yonkers resident Michael Duffy, 42, who was traveling southbound and could not avoid the wrong-way driver, head-on.
Both men were transported to the Westchester Medical Center for treatment. Duffy suffered non-life threatening injuries, while Becerra remains listed in critical condition.
