MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. John C. Murphy Jr. of Mount Kisco died Sept. 3. He was 30.
Murphy was the sales manager of John C. Murphy Moving and Storage Inc., a family-owned company in Brewster.
Born April 10, 1982 in Mount Kisco, he was the son of John C. Murphy and Ellen Nimphius Murphy. He graduated from North Salem High School in 2000 and received a bachelor's degree in communication studies from West Virginia University, where he was on the dean's list.
He loved cars, trucks, travel and adventure, his family said. He also enjoyed snowboarding, golf, good food and spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his parents, John and Ellen; a brother, SPC. Kevin P. Murphy, of Fort Bragg, N.C.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. An aunt, Joan Murphy Racioppo, predeceased him on May 7, 2012.
Memorial visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home in Mount Kisco. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mount Kisco.
