WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A truck that rolled onto train tracks and caught fire led to a disruption in Metro-North train traffic, an MTA spokeswoman confirmed.

The spokeswoman, Majorie Anders, explained that the truck, which was unoccupied, rolled from a lumber yard near by. The incident, which happened around 12:15 p.m., happened north of the Mount Kisco train station, according to Anders.

Anders also detailed the disruptions in train traffic. They included a train being stopped in Chappaqua, which was going from Grand Central to Southeast, and one heading in the opposite direction that was stopped in Goldens Bridge.

Anders added, "The fire was extinguished and a tow truck removed it by 1:15 p.m. There was no apparent damage to the third rail, but the MNR Power Department inspected. One track was back in service by 1:45."

By 2:30 p.m., full service resumed, Anders confirmed.

Metro-North is reporting what it describes as "significant" delays on its Harlem Line train service Monday afternoon. The delays are in both directions between Mount Kisco and Southeast and are as a result of police activity, Metro-North said.

Customers are encouraged to travel to the Chappaqua station for southbound service, Metro-North said.

Mount Kisco Police confirmed that the police activity is in Mount Kisco. Specific information about the activity was not given.

Workers could be seen standing by tracks to the north of the Mount Kisco train station, although it is not known if there is any connection.
