Jeffery Daday, 36, of North Salem spent nearly five years emptying parking meters in the Village of Mount Kisco and depositing the money in his personal bank account at People's United Savings bank.
Once authorities were alerted to the thefts, they put Daday under surveillance and confronted him outside of the bank after he made a deposit, the district attorney said.
Daday pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree grand larceny and one count of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing.
Official sentencing will take place on Dec. 23. Daday faces a maximum of 15 years in prison, according to the district attorney.
