Back to School Shopping in Full Swing at Target

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y.— If you see lots of families walking around the Mt. Kisco Target holding long lists and looking a tad frazzled, don’t be worried. It just means that back to school shopping has started once again.

Alyson O’Reilly took the trip to Target to get school supplies for two of her kids, Abby, 8, and Jack, 6.

Despite not knowing who their teachers would be until August 17, O’Reilly was able to get a head start on the shopping thanks to a list put out by grade by the school

“You don’t know what to get until the school puts out the list,” she said.

Most of the items are standard- pencils, crayons and notebooks, but the item Jack was most excited about buying was headphones for when he has to be on a computer at school.

The O’Reilly’s who are from Somers, had to decide if taking the trip to Mt. Kisco was worth it for back to school shopping.

“I thought, ‘should we go to Staples or Kmart’ and then I was like ‘no,’” O’Reilly said. “Target is one stop shopping. It has everything.”

With two children and a baby, Gwen, O’Reilly knows that doing one massive shopping trip that gets everything is out of the question.

“We’re just getting supplies today,” O’Reilly said. “We’ll have to come back for shoes and clothes and all that.”

The Target located at 195 N Bedford Road is one of the only Targets in Northern Westchester.
