Former Mayor Reilly Receives Nomination, Acclaim

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y.—During the Mount Kisco Village Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, the board took a moment to celebrate an important figure of the village’s recent past.

Former Mayor Patricia Reilly was nominated by state Sen. Greg Ball (R-Patterson) to the Women of Distinction Hall of Fame. Reilly was on hand to receive a bouquet and certificate from the senator’s staff to mark the honor.

Reilly, the mayor of the village from 1994 to 2003, was handed the nomination by Jim Coleman, Ball’s chief of staff, and Suzi McDonough, the senator’s director of constituent services. The pair also presented what the senator's office called his "Jobs Tour", which portrayed Ball’s progress over the past year. But Reilly became the focal point of the evening, who was pleased to not only receive the honor, but to represent the village.

“I am a woman in a town of distinction,” said Reilly.  “In this town you are able to accomplish a lot because of the people that live here.  This is certainly an honor, but I just want everyone to know that I accept this on behalf of everyone in Mount Kisco.”

While Ball was not on hand to personally hand the former mayor the accolade, he was pleased that the village was able to nominate Reilly.

“Mayor Reilly is an impressive leader who stands as an example to all,” said Ball.  “Living a life of service before self, she has built a well deserved reputation of a woman of action, compassion and integrity. I am honored to accept her nomination.”

The nomination is a part of the plan to celebrate the first class of the Women of Distinction Hall of Fame, which will be holding a ceremony on March 30 in the Putnam Emergency Services Center.
