What's Happening Around Mt. Kisco This Weekend

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. — A bird banding demonstration, a technology help session and a fitness boxing class are among the events happening around Mount Kisco this weekend.

Friday, Aug. 31

Live Music at MTK Tavern: 6:30 p.m. Guitarist and singer Petey Hop starts off the night with his eclectic mix of rock and blues. At 9:30 p.m. patrons can enjoy a performance by Brewster-based indie pop band Lumberjack Jones, who claim The Hold Steady, The Flaming Lips and the Arctic Monkeys as influences. MTK Tavern, 30 E. Main St., Mount Kisco.

Saturday, Sept. 1

Bird Banding: 8 to 10 a.m. Children can see wild songbirds up close as they help safely capture, band and release birds during the program. Suggested donation is $5 per person. Westmoreland Sanctuary, 260 Chestnut Ridge Road, Mount Kisco.

Mount Kisco Farmers Market: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This year-round farmers market celebrates local farmers, food artisans, chefs and bakers. Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester, 351 Main St., Mount Kisco.

Drop in for Tech Help: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. No appointment is necessary for this drop-in session that offers tips on basic use of any technology device. Mount Kisco Public Library, 100 E. Main St., Mount Kisco.

Sunday, Sept. 2

Boxing for Fitness Classes: 6 a.m. Fitness enthusiasts can get up early and challenge themselves for one of the gym's daily individual or small group boxing fitness workouts. Lexington Avenue Gym, 326 Lexington Ave., Mount Kisco.
