The heart of the program is a book collection donated by Partners in Prevention, and the first speaker will be “90 Ways to Keep Your Kids Drug Free” author Karen Milici Palmiero on Saturday, June 6 from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
Palmiero will talk about her experiences as a staff member of Phoenix House, which is acclaimed for their approach to addition treatment. She'll also talk about how parents can be better at bridging distances between their children and avoiding a lot of the emotional traps parents put themselves in.
Reservations can be made by visiting the Mount Kisco Library's main desk or emailing miwan@wlsmail.org with the subject line “90 Ways.”
The first 50 people to register will get free copies of Palmiero's “The Prevention Collection,” which focuses on how parents can foster positive adolescent brain development with their actions.
