Northern Westchester Woman Among 5 Charged During Memorial Day Weekend Detail
Five people from the Hudson Valley and Connecticut ended their three-day Memorial Day weekends with drunk driving charges and a host of traffic tickets, police announced. The arrests all happened during a weekend detail in Putnam County, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office announced on Monday, June 5. The detail resulted in the arrests of the following people, according to sheriff's deputies: Litchfield County resident Nadine L. Moose On Loose In Region
A large moose seems to have made quite a journey over the past few days, with multiple sightings in parts of Fairfield County. Meteorologist Jack Drake shared photos and videos on his Facebook page of a large moose that was spotted at the AMC movie theater in Danbury on Monday, Sept. 26. Drake reported that the moose was also seen in Woodbury and Newtown. A Connecticut State Police sergeant who was hospitalized after his vehicle was swept away by floodwaters during Storm Ida has died. The well-respected veteran trooper lost his life early Thursday morning, Sept. 2 as sweeping floodwaters in Litchfield County from the Pomperaug River flooded a road in Woodbury. Man At Large After Crashing Head-On Into Car Containing Children In Area

New York State Police investigators in the Hudson Valley are seeking the public’s assistance as they attempt to track down a man wanted after driving with a suspended license and causing a head-on collision with another vehicle that had kids in the car in February last year. Laura Belle H. Raven, Formerly Of Valhalla, Dedicated Church Volunteer
Laura Belle (L.B.) Raven, 96, formerly of Valhalla, died on Aug. 4. She was the wife of the late Albert Raven. L.B. was born on Dec. 24, 1922 in White Plains, a daughter of Hazel and Harry Havery. She lived and worked in White Plains until her marriage to Albert Raven in 1946. They settled in Valhalla and raised two daughters, Susan and Patti. L.B. worked for the Valhalla United Methodist Church and the Byram Hills School District.
