A woman was killed in a two-alarm fire that tore through a condo complex in Northern Westchester, officials announced. First responders from the Somers Volunteer Fire Department responded to Heritages Hills on the West Hill shortly after 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16, where there was a reported structure fire. Two Hospitalized After Fiery Crash In Westchester
Two people were hospitalized after a fiery crash on a busy roadway in Northern Westchester. It happened just before noontime on Tuesday, May 25 in Somers on Route 100 and Elmer Galloway Road. Before arrival by firefighters and EMS personnel, a state trooper applied a tourniquet to a seriously injured driver of one of the vehicles, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. All hands were on deck after a driver crashed near the Amawalk Reservoir in Northern Westchester. First responders were dispatched to the reservoir shortly before 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, where there was a report of a car that had crashed near the edge of the water. One Driver Trapped In Head-On Westchester Crash
A two-vehicle head-on crash trapped the driver of one vehicle in Northern Westchester. The crash took place around 8:17 a.m., Friday, Feb. 14, at the intersection of Mahopac Avenue and Route 35 in Somers, said the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. The first units on the scene found the trapped driver, and with a crew of five using the Jaws of Life to remove the side of the vehicle, the driver was removed within eight minutes, the department said. A 53-year-old man killed in a fire at his Northern Westchester will be remembered during a visitation on Monday, July 9. Frank Fonte was found unconscious around 5 p.m. Sunday by Yorktown Heights firefighters and was pronounced dead a short time later at his home at 1789 Baldwin Road. Brush Fire Off Saw Mill Parkway Takes Hours To Contain
A multi-acre brush fire that broke out Saturday afternoon off of the Saw Mill River Parkway in Chappaqua took nearly four hours to contain.
