Shooting Suspect Caught In Westchester: Incident Prompts Schools To Delay Dismissal Local schools were asked to delay the dismissal of students as authorities worked to apprehend a shooting suspect in Westchester, police said. The delayed dismissals occurred as a result of an incident on Tuesday, Nov. 14, when the Port Chester Police Department was notified that a suspect involved in a shooting in Yonkers may have been in the village. According to the department, the suspect's vehicle was then soon found in Port Chester by FBI Safe Streets Task Force members. It was then discovered that the suspect had a local address, prompting authorities to begin surveilling their home.…

Water Main Break Leads To Early Dismissal At High School, Middle School In Westchester A water main break has resulted in early dismissals at a high school and middle school in Westchester. The break "involves a significant 12-inch pipe that has no timeline for completion," Mount Pleasant Central School Superintendent Peter Giarrizzo said in an email to the community late Thursday morning, May 12.  Giarrizzo said there is currently no water at both Westlake High School, Westlake Middle School and the district office. As a result, students from both schools were dismissed at 11:15 a.m. Thursday. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.
