Two suspects who admitted to being part of a nationwide fraud scheme were caught with the help of police in the Hudson Valley.
The two men, Joshua Mallory, age 37, and Gary Grier, age 36, both of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, Dec. 20 to being part of the multi-state "Felony Lane Gang," a fraud scheme involving suspects breaking into cars and stealing debit cards and checkbooks, according to the US Attorney's Office for the Northern District of New York.

More than 100 firearms were seized and 11 people were arrested following a six-month, multi-agency investigation into “ghost guns” and illegal weapons in Westchester and Putnam counties.
Search warrants were executed at eight locations by local, county, and federal authorities in Westchester and Putnam this week, which led to the seizure of rifles, handguns, “ghost guns,” and multiple high-capacity drum magazines.
Police investigators added that some of the weapons lacked or had defaced serial numbers.

A Hudson Valley man has been arrested following a months-long investigation into the alleged manufacture, sale, and possession of illegal firearms.
David Goldberg Jr., age 23, of Carmel, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 2, following a warrant search of his residence, Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley Jr., said.

Funeral Services Announced For Police Officer Killed In Westchester Crash
Funeral arrangements have been announced for a longtime Putnam County Sheriff's deputy who was killed in a double-fatal crash in Northern Westchester.
Michael J. Moore, 50, of Mahopac, was killed around 6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 25 on Route 6N, said Yorktown Police.
When police and fire officials arrived on the scene, they found Moore, who was the driver of one of the vehicles, dead.
Denise Ryan, 56, also of Mahopac, the driver of the second vehicle, was found injured and transported to Westchester Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries, police said.

The identity of a man who drowned in a Hudson Valley lake while out boating with friends has been released by police.
Brooklyn resident Sydney Joseph, 46, was recovered on Monday, June 29, in Oscawana Lake, located in the town of Putnam Valley, said Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr.
The search for Joseph began around 3:35 p.m., Saturday, June 27, when sheriff's deputies responded to the lake for a report of a potential drowning, the sheriff's department said.

A convicted felon from Northern Westchester is facing a host of charges after allegedly forcing his way into a Putnam County woman’s home, injuring her and damaging property, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
