State PD: Man Displayed Fake Mount Vernon Police Shield In Traffic Stop
A Connecticut man is facing charges in Putnam County after allegedly attempting to dupe New York State Police troopers with a fake police ID after he was stopped for a vehicle violation in his Mercedes on I-84 in Southeast. Troopers initiated the stop at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Monday night, when Waterbury resident Robert McLean committed an alleged vehicle and traffic law violation on the interstate. According to police, while being interviewed by the responding troopers, McLean allegedly displayed a fraudulent Mount Vernon Housing Police shield and a forged police identification card.…
