A popular Northern Westchester movie theater has been forced to call "cut" and will be shutting down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With movie theaters still not permitted to reopen in New York due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Mount Kisco Movie Theatre on East Main Street has been listed for lease or sale following what was expected to be a temporary closure in March. The 37-year-old man killed in a crash on the Saw Mill River Parkway is being remembered as a longtime member of his hometown fire department in Northern Westchester and for his love of sprint car racing. Bedford Hills resident James Poli Jr. was driving on the Saw Mill River Parkway at approximately 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12 near the Mount Kisco/Bedford Hills border when he lost control, rear-ended another vehicle, struck a tree, and was ejected, killing him, according to Westchester County Police. Convicted Rapist Who Fled US During Trial Taken Into Custody In Westchester
A visit to a deli on a red bicycle led to the arrest by Westchester County Police detectives of a man who fled from a rape trial 30 years ago. Nelson Gustavo Caceres, 51, was arrested Friday, July 5, and remanded back to the County Jail in Valhalla after Westchester County detectives tracked him to the deli in Mount Kisco following an intensive investigation, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police. Woman Made Threats With Baseball Bat, Westchester County Police Say
A woman allegedly threatened a man with a baseball bat at a Mount Kisco gas station after he reportedly almost collided at the pump, police said. Westchester County Police officers were dispatched to an East Main Street gas station shortly after 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, where there was a report of a dispute between the man and woman who had gotten into an argument. Police said that upon arrival, the man stated he had gotten into the argument after nearly colliding at the gas pump.
