Details have been released by police regarding the arrest in the fatal shooting of an innocent 18-year-old high school student who was a bystander during a reported gang dispute in Westchester.
Marilyn Cotto Montanez, of Yonkers, was shot in the head on Thursday, April 25, near the intersection of Lake and Morningside avenues in Yonkers, police said. The 11th-grader from Lincoln High School was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

A pair of men from Westchester are facing a series of federal felony charges after allegedly taking local police on a wild, high-speed chase before ramming into an FBI vehicle, officials announced.
Geoffrey Berman, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced the arrests of Yonkers residents Harry Quintana-Cruz. 26, and Alejandro Ortiz-Cruz, 18, both of whom were charged in a complaint with forcibly assaulting, resisting, and interfering with FBI Special Agents by colliding into their vehicle after a high-speed car chase.

Yonkers Police Department Adds Six Officers To Its Ranks
YONKERS, N.Y. - The Yonkers Police Department is ready to welcome some its finest recruits to its ranks.
On Thursday, Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano and Police Commissioner Charles Gardner braved the “bomb cyclone” conditions outside to welcome its six newest officers, who will now enter training.
The new hires include: Liam Deane, Adam Sousa, Rui Sousas, Daniel Piparo, Connor McMullen and Vanessa Antepara, who graduated from an orientation program at police headquarters.
