School Superintendent In Westchester Leaving For New Position In Area
One of Westchester’s top educators has officially been tabbed to take over at the helm of a different district in the Hudson Valley. Dr. Marc P. Baiocco, the current Schools Superintendent of the Elmsford Union Free School District, has been formally voted in by the Board of Education of the Clarkstown Central School District in Rockland County to assume the same position there this summer. Racism Concerns Prompt High School In Westchester To Cancel 'Tarzan' Play
The show will not go on, as a high school in Westchester has canceled a scheduled student play amid concerns of racism. The Elmsford Central School District announced that it will be canceling its planned Disney’s “Tarzan” play, the day before auditions were scheduled for the Alexander Hamilton High School production on Wednesday, Dec. 4. Defunct Company Donates 105 Bikes To Westchester Town, New 'Bike-Share' Deal In Motion
One of the two bike-share companies that offered Westchester residents the opportunity to rent bicycles in White Plains -- named oFo -- swiftly closed down their operation. They left over 105 bicycles near the White Plains train station and advised the Cycle Club of Westchester that they would like to donate the bicycles to those who can’t afford a bicycle. On Friday, July 27 the Town of Greenburgh picked up the bicycles and stored them. The apps on the oFo bicycles have been removed. Hamilton Students Perform At Rogers Theater
ELMSFORD, N.Y. -- Two Alexander Hamilton High School juniors recently got to perform at the theater that's made their namesake relevant again. Taiyo Spain and Jason Bernard performed a rap on the Boston Massacre from a British soldier's perspective at the Richard Rogers Theater last month. The Rogers theater is where "Hamilton," the hit Broadway musical on Alexander Hamilton is performed.
