Mount Vernon Man Charged With Murder For Fatal Shooting Of Area Resident A Westchester man is facing a murder charge for his role in a fatal weekend shooting of a 23-year-old. Mount Vernon resident Akeem Palmer, 23, was arraigned on a second-degree murder charge after a shooting on Sunday, April 26, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr., said. It is alleged that Palmer shot Ryan Solomon on Sunday afternoon at a South Third Avenue residence in Mount Vernon. Solomon suffered a wound to his torso but managed to call 911.
