Driver Comes Forward To Police After Hitting Pedestrian In Westchester

A driver who hospitalized a pedestrian in Northern Westchester after striking them with a car at a busy intersection is working with police, investigators said.

On Wednesday, Sept. 18, a pedestrian was struck on Croton Avenue at the intersection of Linden Avenue in Ossining, sending one person to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said that initially, the driver of the vehicle left the scene without waiting for police to arrive, prompting investigators to launch a search for the motorist.

“That’s not ok,” the department posted on Facebook on the day of the incident. “f you’re the driver, we need to speak with you so call or come to the police station. The sooner the better.”

On Friday, Sept. 20, the department offered an update, saying that driver had called in at police headquarters and is cooperating with investigators. Check Daily Voice for updates.
