Work On Gas Main Closes Mount Vernon Street

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Crews from Persico Contracting said that Fletcher Avenue between E. Lincoln Avenue and Chester Street will be closed Thursday morning and early afternoon while they work on a gas main.

A police car is parked on E. Lincoln Avenue across the street from Lincoln Elementary School as through traffic down Fletcher Avenue is shut down on Thursday morning.

Crews said that the work is part of a project that will take two months and cover the neighborhood from Gramatan to Primrose avenues.
