Anna Sollozo, a Yonkers resident who worked as a supervisor in the Yonkers Public Schools Transportation Department, was charged by Yonkers detectives with grand larceny in the second0degree and receiving reward for official misconduct in the second-degree.
William Ahern, an Armonk resident who owns A Plus Transportation, was charged with grand larceny in the second-degree and rewarding official misconduct in the second-degree.
Police said investigation revealed that payments were made by A Plus Transportation company to personal accounts belonging to Sollozzo.
A Plus Transportation was contracted with the Board of Education to provide buses to transport students in Yonkers, police said. The Yonkers Board of Education was billed for bus services for certain after school activities when in fact those services were never provided, according to police.
Sollozzo subsequently resigned from her position with the school district in 2014 after the investigation began, police said. Sollozzo received funds in her personal bank account totaling approximately $107,250, according to police.
The suspects were arraigned in Yonkers and the investigation is continuing, police said.
