Fire Closes Popular Northern Westchester Restaurant A popular Northern Westchester restaurant known for its wings, burgers and ribs and for being a great place for families to have a dinner out is closed due to a kitchen fire. The fire took place in Northern Westchester County on Saturday, April 8 at the New York Firehouse Grille at 63 Welcher Ave., in Peekskill. Although no one was injured, the entire kitchen was destroyed.  The owners said on Facebook the restaurant will be closed while they deal with insurance and rebuild the kitchen. Fire Breaks Out At Restaurant In Westchester Firefighters were able to knock down a fire that broke out at an area Chinese restaurant, saving several other businesses in the process. The fire, at the Hunan III at 6 Cedar St., in Bronxville, started around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 from a build-up of grease in the broiler, said Eastchester Fire Chief Brian Tween. The department responded with 15 firefighters and found fire in a large broiler in the basement prep area on fire and the ductwork up to the roof also ignited, Tween said.
