'Animal Abuse In Service Of Greed': Hudson Valley Duo Sentenced In Racehorse Doping Case
A veterinarian and racehorse trainer from the Hudson Valley have received their sentences for their role in a racehorse doping scheme.
Orange County Veterinarian Louis Grasso, age 65, of Pine Bush, and trainer Richard Banca, age 47, of Middletown, were sentenced to 50 months in prison, and 30 months in prison, respectively, for producing, distributing, and administering performance-enhancing drugs as part of the doping case, according to an announcement by the US Attorney's Office from Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Man Indicted For Murder Of Popular Musician In Hudson Valley
An Ulster County grand jury has indicted an area man for the shooting death of a popular musician and tattoo artist.
Orange County resident, Walter Post Jr., age 26, of Pine Bush, was indicted for the second-degree murder of 29-year-old Michael Hankins of Woodridge, said Ulster County District Attorney David Clegg.
According to District Attorney's Office, it's alleged that in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Jan. 11, Post stalked his ex-girlfriend and her home.

Two Women Killed In Crash Between Jeep, RAV4 In Hudson Valley
An investigation is underway after two female drivers were killed in a crash in the Hudson Valley.
It happened just before 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29 in Orange County in the Town of Newburgh.
The vehicle, a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, was observed on Main Street by Walden Police and was subsequently stopped, according to state police, who noted that Town of Montgomery Police stopped to assist at the scene.

Hudson Valley Entrepreneur Donald Knueppel Dies At 32
Donald Knueppel, an entrepreneur and longtime resident of the area, died on Thursday, Feb. 8 at Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center in the Town of Hamptonburgh. He was 32.
The son of Robert Knueppel Jr. and Michele Wallentine, he was born on July 8, 1985 in Jersey City. Donnie enjoyed WWE Wrestling, karaoke, dancing, sports, drawing, singing, and playing video games. He also enjoyed meeting new people, spending time with his family and friends, and was a real ladies' man.
