Area Woman Stole $42K In Payments From Dead Mother, NYS Comptroller Says Nearly $42,000 has been recovered from a 63-year-old woman who allegedly stole it from her dead mother’s pension payments, New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli announced. Dutchess County resident Bonnie Robertson, 63, of Pleasant Valley, was sentenced to three years probation and agreed to pay full restitution after pleading guilty to petit larceny earlier this year, DiNapoli announced. Westchester Woman Accused Of Hiding Mother's Death, Stealing $60K Pension A Westchester woman has been busted for allegedly concealing her mother’s death in an effort to collect tens of thousands of dollars from her pension. Mount Vernon resident Rochelle Rose, 40, was arrested this week for allegedly collecting $60,285 in pension payments from her dead mother. That stolen money was then used for personal expenses such as cellphone bills, a car loan, insurance and utility bills, according to New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli and Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr., who announced the arrest on Thursday.
