Alarm System At Reservoir In Westchester To Be Tested: Here's Where, When
Officials have announced when residents can expect to hear the sound of sirens near a reservoir in Westchester. The next quarterly test of the sitewide alarm system at Hillview Reservoir in Yonkers is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m., according to Yonkers Councilman John Rubbo. During the drill, the alarms will sound for around five minutes. A notification throughout the system that says "This is just a test" will be given just before the alarms sound, Rubbo said. The test is a regularly scheduled drill.

Planned 200-Plus Layoffs Avoided By Yonkers Public Schools
It came down to the wire, but more than 200 positions and programs have been saved in the Yonkers School District following the City Council's adoption of a $1.2 billion budget that includes increased funding for the district.
