Manhunt Underway For Prisoner Who Escapes Custody In Westchester
A massive search is underway after a 22-year-old headed to the Westchester County Jail escaped custody. Isaiah Washington, 22, was being transported to the jail in a minivan in Mount Vernon when he managed to slip out of his handcuffs and run off in the area of Manor Ridge Road and Boston Post Road in Pelham overnight Saturday, May 25. A Senegalese national escaped ICE agents who were deporting him at JFK Airport, said authorities who were searching for him. Mohamadou Lamine Mbacke, 31, "was in ICE custody awaiting removal via a commercial airline flight through JFK Tuesday before absconding" at Terminal 4's Gate B23, said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Khaalid Walls. A 25-year-old Westchester woman attempted to flee from the Town of Cortlandt Court custody this week after being remanded to the Westchester County Jail, a New York State Police spokesperson said.
