Paula W. Petersen, 72, of Ridgefield, died on Sunday, Oct. 31. She was the wife of the late John S. Petersen, Jr.
Paula was born in Schenectady, NY on July 9, 1949 — a daughter of the late Henry and Ruth (Whitney) Weltzien. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Yonkers and Pace University in Pleasantville.
A resident of Ridgefield since 2003, Paula previously resided in Ridgefield from 1978 to 1988 and Westchester County from 1988 to 2003. Paula was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Pleasantville, NY. In her spare time, she enjoyed bridge, sewing, crafts and baking.

The Hudson Valley saw an uptick in the positivity rate for COVID-19 testing, according to newly released data on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
Of a total of 83,997 test results reported on Monday, Sept. 21 to New York State, 754, or 0.89 percent, were positive.
Here are positivity testing rates for the last three days in the Hudson Valley:
Saturday, Sept. 19: 1.0 percent
Sunday, Sept. 20: 1.1 percent
Monday, Sept. 21: 1.2 percent
