National Merit Finalists will be notified of their selection in February, and are chosen based on skills, accomplishments and potential for success in rigorous college studies.

Finalists are eligible to compete for 2,500 National Merit, 1,000 corporation and 4,500 college-sponsored scholarships that will be announced between April and July 2014.

A 2013 inductee to the National Honor Society, Bedonian also was Westlake’s recipient of the 2013 Columbia University Book Award for outstanding academic achievement and possessing an interest in research.
