A 30-year-old woman is behind bars after she was caught using credit cards she stole from vehicles in Northern Westchester, state police said.
The arrest of Lauren N. DeHayes of Cortlandt stems from an investigation of credit cards stolen from vehicles, reported on Sept. 14, 2017 in the town of Cortlandt.
Continued investigation led to the whereabouts, and subsequent arrest of DeHayes for her part in stealing, and then fraudulently using those credit cards for her own benefit, according to police.
State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested DeHayes on Wednesday, April 25 and charged her with three counts of criminal possession of stolen property and two counts of identity theft, all Class E felonies.
DeHayes was arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $6,000 cash bail or bond.
