The woman driving on Clove Road just off of Route 208 in South Blooming Grove told officials that she smelled smoke shortly after making the turn onto the roadway shortly after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22. Her Toyota Camry then proceeded to stall out and flames burst through the hood of the car.
The woman was able to escape the blaze unscathed, and firefighters were called to the scene. Working quickly, crews had the flames knocked down and extinguished in approximately 15 minutes. No injuries were reported, but the Camry suffered extensive damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
