Two-Alarm House Fire Breaks Out In Westchester

A two-alarm fire sent smoke billowing through the air and left a home with substantial damage in Westchester.

Firefighters were dispatched to a Villa Street home in Mount Vernon shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, when a fire broke out in the upper level of the two-story home.

First responders reportedly were able to rescue trapped residents safely before firefighters arrived at the scene.

The cause of the fire is unclear. No injuries were initially reported.
