The arrest of Shawn Waters of Oak Street in the Village of Brewster came after members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant on Thursday, Dec. 13, Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr. said.
During the search, deputies seized multiple electronic devices. Waters was interviewed and arrested after images and videos of obscene sexual performances by children were located on one of the electronic devices allegedly in his possession, according to Langley.
Waters was transported to the sheriff’s office and charged with 10 counts of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, a Class E felony.
Waters was arraigned in front of the Hon. Gregory Folchetti in the Town of Southeast Court and remanded to the Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000/$50,000 cash/bond.
