Police: Hawthorne Juvenile Arrested After Biting Officer

HAWTHORNE, N.Y. -- Mount Pleasant Police arrested a juvenile on Sunday after police say she damaged property and bit a police officer while resisting arrest.

On March 24 at around 2 p.m. police arrested a 16-year-old female who is a student at the Hawthorne Cedar Knolls School. Police said that they were originally called to the school Sunday afternoon after the student damaged property to a building on the school's campus. 

The juvenile was charged with assault in the second degree and criminal mischief in the third degree, both felonies. She was also charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.

  • On March 22 at around 4:30 p.m., Mount Pleasant Police arrested a 23-year-old Connecticut man on charges of violating a town ordinance, a violation. Police say that the man from Shelton, Conn. was going door-to-door on Wall Ave. in Valhalla soliciting business for a home remodeling company without a solicitor's permit. Police say the man was previously warned by police not to solicit without a permit. 
  • On March 23 at around 1:45 p.m., Mount Pleasant Police report that 12 DMV inspection stickers were stolen from the Mobil gas station on Virginia Road in Valhalla.  An investigation continues and no arrest has been made.
