A passenger in a truck died after the rig crashed on I-287 near the White Plains-Harrison border, according to New York State Police.
The crash took place at 7:33 p.m.Tuesday between Exits 9A and 10 in Harrison on the eastbound side of the highway.
During the crash, the truck rolled into the woods, hitting several trees, police said.
An investigation at the scene revealed the passenger in the truck was pronounced deceased on scene, while the driver was reported to have sustained minor injuries, state police said.
The passenger's name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
The preliminary investigation determined no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
The accident is currently still under investigation.
