An attempted burglary in Northern Westchester has led to a manhunt and a school lockout.
The incident took place around 11:47 a.m. Wednesday when an attempted burglary occurred at 3 Lafayette St. in Verplanck, said New York State Trooper AJ Hicks.
Police are not releasing many details but did confirm that the NYSP are searching for a suspect and that schools in the area are in a lockout at this time.
"The attempted burglary is under investigation," said Hicks. "At this time there is no danger to the public."
Hendrick Hudson Schools Superintendent Joseph E. Hochreiter said on twitter the lockout affected Hen Hud High School and Buchanan-Verplanck and Frank G. Lindsey elementary schools and district offices and was recommended by law enforcement.
