Troopers stopped a vehicle on I-87 in Greenburgh shortly before 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, when they spotted a motorist committing multiple vehicle and traffic violations on the roadway.
According to police, during the subsequent stop, troopers were able to establish probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants - Vermont resident Craig Nugent, Jr., 42 and Brooklyn resident Zaquikon Roy, 30 - which led to the seizure of a loaded handgun, approximately 1.45 grams of Suboxone, a gram of marijuana and more than eight grams of Naloxone, which the two men were allegedly in possession of.
Both men were arrested and charged with a felony count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
