A busy Westchester roadway was temporarily shut down late on Sunday night after a car went skidding through the snow and slammed into a utility pole.
Police in Rye Brook were forced to shut down Lincoln Avenue near the intersection of Talcott Road when a driver lost control on the snowy roadway and struck the pole, sending live wires across the road.
Con Edison crews were called to the scene to make emergency repairs overnight and police were able to reopen Lincoln Avenue in time for Monday morning’s commute.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the crash has not been released, though the conditions on Lincoln Avenue were poor at the time of the crash.
