Valhalla Native Pablo Sanchez, 25-Year-Old Software Engineer, Dies Suddenly

Westchester native Pablo Alberto Sanchez died suddenly of undetermined causes on May 7. He was 25.

Sanchez was born in Valhalla on Feb. 27, 1993, to Juan Sanchez and Ana Espinoza. He was the youngest of four children.

Sanchez spent his childhood in his beloved hometown of Mount Kisco. 

Since he was young, Sanchez had been compassionate and driven to overcome any and all challenges he faced. 

The family later settled in Mahopac where Sanchez attended middle and high school. During his time there, he was a member of the National Honor Society, volunteered as a student researcher analyst for the Globe Program and participated in track and orchestra. 

Sanchez was distinguished for his hard work ethic and earned a full scholarship to attend the University of Pennsylvania.

At UPenn, Sanchez majored in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and minored in Computer Science. He was a member of the Cipactli Latino Honor Society and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. 

Over his summers, Sanchez worked as a research assistant for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and was a teaching assistant at the Management and Technology Summer Institute. Sanchez graduated from UPenn with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

Sanchez moved to Virginia in December 2017 to become a software engineer through the technology firm Revature. He excelled in their intensive training program and was awarded Most Valuable Programmer for his performance and enthusiastic teamwork.

He is survived by his mother and father, Juan Sanchez and Ana Espinoza; his siblings, Juan Pablo Sanchez, Veronica Sanchez, Ana Sanchez; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, as well as countless friends. 

Family and friends are invited to Cassidy- Flynn Funeral Home Inc. for a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, May 19, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a religious service during the visitation.

Cassidy-Flynn is located at 288 E. Main St. in Mount Kisco.
