Funeral arrangements have been scheduled for former Somers High School soccer standout Ashley Lynne Manning of Katonah who died earlier this month at age 29.

She was born in 1990, in Saratoga Springs. The family later moved to St. Charles, Illinois, and then settled in Katonah.

She attended Somers public schools and graduated from Somers High School in 2008. She attended Roanoke College and University of California–Irvine, where she received a full academic scholarship.

Ashley was an All-League and All-Section selection in soccer at Somers High School, where she was team captain as a senior and an honor roll student.

Through soccer, sports and activities, Ashley had the opportunity to travel to quite a few places, including National Parks in Colorado, Utah and California, the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, and, with her soccer team, to play in Milan, Italy.

Ashley loved the beach, especially the Jersey Shore and Cape Cod, according to her obituary, which added she was bright, had a fun sense of humor, was full of life and adventure, and always taking on challenges in pursuit of what she wanted to accomplish.

She is survived by her sister, Taylor, her brothers Steven (Kristen) and James (Deborah) and her nephew Seamus, and her parents Denise and Steve Manning. She is also survived by her grandmother, Virginia, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation is Monday, Jan. 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home, Inc. on Saw Mill River Road in Yorktown Heights.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Somers.
