Thornwood Man Found Shot in White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Police discovered a 23-year-old Thornwood man with bullet wounds in a car parked on the side of Ferris Avenue near Cemetery Road after receiving a call about a shooting at 10:54 p.m. Friday.

Police say it appears as if the man was shot once in the arm and once where his upper body meets his neck.

Assistant Chief Anne Fitzsimmons said the victim was brought to the Westchester Medical Center in Vahalla, where he was in serious condition as of Saturday afternoon.

Officers are still investigating whether the victim was in the car or not when he was shot and the relationship between him and the shooter.

Fitzsimmons said detectives were only able to briefly speak to the Thornwood man before he was treated. However, they said they do have one suspect. A man with a medium build in his mid-20s was seen driving away from the crime scene in a silver car, police said.
