This Week in Mount Pleasant Schools

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. – As both the Mount Pleasant Central School District and the Pleasantville Union Free School District have off on Monday for Columbus Day, it will be a shortened week for students. However, there is still a lot going on in both districts for students and parents. In Mount Pleasant, Westlake High School students will have the opportunity to take the PSAT in school. It will be the first year students can take the test during school hours. In previous years, students took the test during the weekend. Wednesday night, the Mount Pleasant Board of Education will hold a work session at the district's office at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend. On Saturday, the Westlake High School football team will host Putnam Valley High School at Westlake High at 1:30 p.m. The Wildcats are currently 1-3 on the year. In Pleasantville, the Board of Education will hold its regular meeting Tuesday night at the Pleasantville High School library. The meeting is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. There will be reports on new staff members within the district. Wednesday is the last day for students to register for the PSAT. The testing will be held at Pleasantville High School on Saturday. Pleasantville parents will have several chances this week to get involved in the high school, as the junior parents coffee session will be held Thursday morning at 7:45 a.m. and the Pleasantville High School parents’ council will meet Thursday evening at 7 p.m. in the Pleasantville High School library.
