Beginning on Monday, April 28 and ending Friday, May 2, the road will be closed to traffic between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Rain dates for the work are Saturday, May 3 and Monday, May 5. The closures are necessary so Con Edison can install wires over the Parkway to maintain electric service during NYSDOT’s Bradhurst Avenue Bridge rehabilitation project.
Detours during the closures will be as follows:
Northbound traffic: Take the exit to Grasslands Road (Route 100C) and turn left. Proceed west on Grasslands Road to Old Saw Mill River Road, then turn right onto the Saw Mill River Parkway northbound. Take Exit 26 to the Taconic State Parkway.
Southbound traffic: Take the exit to the Saw Mill River Parkway southbound. Proceed south on the Saw Mill to Exit 23 and turn left onto Old Saw Mill River Road eastbound. Continue onto Grasslands Road, then bear right onto the Sprain Brook Parkway southbound.
Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through the work area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including work zone signs and flaggers.
Motorists are also reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of the driver’s license.
