Kadish said Engel's visit demonstrates that the college continues to be on the frontier of significant advances in research and the changing landscape of health care in this country.
"It is an honor to host Congressman Engel, and I look forward to our continued collaboration in addressing health care issues both in Westchester County and beyond," said Kadish.
The tour included a visit to the medical college's 19 Skyline Drive building in Hawthorne, which was purchased by NYMC in April 2013 to accommodate expanding programs and provide new office space for tenants of the aging Munger Pavilion, as it had deteriorated beyond repair. It is on 12 acres off Route 9A in Hawthorne and houses a 115-seat auditorium, 80-seat outdoor dining plaza, large multiuse areas and a 720-space parking lot.
Engel is the ranking member on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
